History

Normandy Day UK was registered as a UK charity in 2010 after its founder Dennis Davison had spent many years as the UK representative for the former Normandy Day International, a Normandy-based organisation that mobilised schools and civic representatives from all nations involved in the D-Day landings to hold simultaneous peace picnics on 6th June, the anniversary of D-Day.

Hundreds of school children, including many on the south coast of England, took part in these picnics as a show of unity to ensure that the apple orchards of Normandy will never again run with the blood of the fallen.
